Brewing duo, Jay and Lori Wince, have set the standard high for Zanesville. Their reputation extends throughout the country and the folks in nearby Columbus can't get enough of these brews, despite their access to over 20 local breweries in the Columbus area. You can't beat the Weasel Boy beer selection which offers four flagships like the dearly loved Dancing Ferret IPA and biggest seller, the Plaid Ferret Scottish Ale, along with an array of rotating seasonals that include a Mango Wheat, Bitter Sable BIPA, Anastasia Imperial Stout, Mint Chocolate Stout, Snow Ermine Holiday Ale with raw, local honey, whole vanilla and organic cocoa nibs. If that doesn't make your mouth water, I don't know what will.
There's only one thing missing from this picture and that's beer's best friend, pizza. The crust is made in the kitchen every single day using the brewery's very own Brown Stoat Stout to infuse a wheat crust. It's smothered in the house made sauce and topped with fresh, local ingredients. From the pizza to the beer, they love their craft and it shows through every pint and slice.
Building a locally sustainable environment and economy
Reviving Zanesville's rich history in brewing, Weasel Boy Brewing Company opened its doors in 2007 and has been growing ever since. The brewery offers a unique culture that promotes community involvement in every aspect of its operation. Spent grains from brewing are donating to local farmers, recyclable products are recycled, produce and meats are sourced from local farms and suppliers, every wine and cider on their menu was made within an hour of their location and on top of all of that, they have live music every weekend and often play host to fund raising events for local charities, organizations and benefits. This business truly does actively support a sustainable environment and economy through their business practices and they're always looking for new ways to expand their efforts. Don't feel guilty for overdoing it on craft beer and pizza at this local joint, every purchase is for a good cause in one way or another. Cheers!
